Well, what can I say. Simply amazing show. The band's first in Toronto
to a packed house, (apparently one of the best attended shows on the tour).
Wonder if it would have been like that had there been a cover charge (as
they played as part of "New Music Night" Tuesdays, always free).. Hmmm,
don't know. Know I was prepared to pay anything to get in! Get there as
Linkin Park was hitting the stage (bit of an odd pairing for tour mates,
but oh well); only to find the line already out the door (not a good sign).
After enjoying a few in-line Coronna's, we make it in for the rest of their
set. (ho hum, nothing fancy really). The stage is striked, and the
theory gear starts making it's way out. Wow, nice to see that Gibson Les
Paul bass again, ahhhh..tones of home! And that infamous Tele.. (they both
make the music that makes us feel fine!) Oh so sweet to see these fine
instruments and know who they're rightful owners are, and that they will
be joining us ever so shortly. Things get dark, is that.. could it
be.. yup... here they come. The rest, as they say is history. Afterwards,
much like a massive orgy, all are left
feeling weak kneed and sweaty from the performance. "AM Radio"
was a personal highlight as was "Keep On". No "Medicate" or "15 Hits",
but hey, can't get everything you want. After the first encore of "Not
Dead", screams for "one more" we're appropriately met with the ever so
rare song "One Less". A perfect treat for a full house of fans just enjoying
some great
music on a blustery November night. Thank you boys for gracing us with
your prescence, come back soon.
