Current albums you like?
Deftones: White Pony
Peter Gabriel: OVO: Millennium Show
The Cardigans: Gran Turismo
On White Pony: "I don't listen to too much heavy stuff, but I think the Deftones are an exception to all the Limp Bizkits and Korns. Their music is way more melodic. Chino's got an amazing voice. That's what's lacking in all of those bands. He's got a voice that could be in a super hot pop band."
Classic Albums you like?
Curve: Doppelganger
Jeff Buckley: Grace
Jane's Addiction: Nothing's Shocking
On Doppelganger: "I've always been inspired by female vocalists, maybe because I sing more in that range. It's sweet tones that you seldom find in a male's voice. There's a good ten songs of theirs that are enough for me to say, I could deal with those songs for a long time."
On Grace: "That's the closest record that I've ever heard that comes anywhere near what I hope to achieve with my own abilities and song writing."

Passion - Peter Gabriel
Birdy - Peter Gabriel
On Peter Gabriel: "That record changed my life."

Your biggest musical influences?
My dad
Nina Simone
Jeff Buckley
George Jones
On My dad: "He's one of the guys that believes you can achieve anything in the world. He not only believes it, but he knows how to follow through on a plan. He has always been behind me pushing me to do what I wanted to do. He once said to me, " I don't care what you do. If you want to work at McDonald's, fine. Just make sure you're Employee of the Month.""
Best concert you ever saw?
Jane's Addiction on the first Lollapalooza Tour
First concert you ever saw?
Bruce Springsteen on the Born in the USA Tour
in Charlotte, NC. I sat there with my jaw to the floor. I couldn't believe
what I was watching.
Performance that stands out for you?
Our last show in Seattle. We played the Show
Box. We had a packed house. We felt the love in the room. Everyone was
there to check us out. There was a lot of respect. When it needed to be
quiet it was quiet. The crowd was completely attentive, no one left. Everything
just went perfectly.
Musical equipment you like?
The first couple of days that I had met Brad.
I didn't know if I was ready to do this band. "Passive" was the first song
we started working on. That beginning drum loop was something Brad had
made. As we were doing it, I wasn't really feelin' where it was going,
because there were no live drums. But I was having a good time and I wanted
to put everything into it. Brad went home to his studio and played and
sampled all these horns and flutes and all sorts of weird Indian sounding
stuff. He brought it back in and played it for us. When I heard that, I
was like, OK this is what I'm doing. There was no denying it at that point.

On Schindler's List: "I only needed to see it once. My history teacher spent almost an entire school year on WWII and the Holocaust. Seeing that film for me, moved me, but literally changed what I believed to be religion in general. I grew up in the Bible Belt, with an extremely hardcore Baptist family. My best friend growing up was Jewish and we used to get into fights about believing in Jesus."
On Raiders of the Lost Ark: "I'm such an Indiana Jones fan it's not funny."

Sex
Where was your first kiss?
Probably when I was very young. I was the kid
that had problems, showing my privates to all the girls at the swing sets.
I used to get in trouble for touching private spots in pre-kindergarten
and stuff.
